| Preview:- Head-to-head: Both teams have played each other 15 times before, with Mumbai winning 9 and Rajasthan winning 5. One game in 2009 was abandoned due to rain. | |
| On the other hand, Mumbai Indians haven't looked good as a unit so far. The Knight Riders thrashed them at the Eden Gardens in the season opener and then they moved to Mumbai looking for some momentum. However, things did not go their way at the Wankhede as well as Kings XI Punjab almost registered a crushing win, only for Harbhajan Singh to reduce to margin of defeat. The top-order could not handle some fine swing bowling and were reduced to 6/59. Harbhajan then came in and smashed the bowlers to all corners to entertain the crowd. In the bowling department, apart from Harbhajan and Pawan Suyal, none of the bowlers were economical. | |
| We move to Ahmedabad for game 9 of the 2015 Indian Premier League. It's the first home game of the season for Rajasthan Royals and they are up against the mighty Mumbai Indians. The hosts have had a great start to the season, having won their first two games. If their win against Kings XI Punjab was convincing, they stole a thriller at the Feroz Shah Kotla to stun the Delhi Daredevils. Young Deepak Hooda grabbed eyeballs with his sensational all-round display against DD, while Ajinkya Rahane looked very good at the top. The fact that James Faulkner, Tim Southee and Dhawal Kulkarni went for runs will concern them a bit, but overall the side looks well balanced and they will be keen to get off to a winning start at home. |
